Abstract

Le Cercle des Tropiques is a political thriller whose denunciation of the defects and eccentricities of the despotic regime established at the dawn of African independence polarizes the plot that the Guinean writer Alioum Fantouré exposes to the virtual readership. The study extracts the ideological significance hidden by the literary form, which establishes the literariness of this best-seller as an undeniable link in Negro-African literature.
