Abstract

This paper discusses the need for a unifying field theory that can explain so cial interaction in conflict without the encumbrance of symbolic interpretations and fixed normative interactive patterns. The use of power as a filtering field and its systematic interface with human needs as a pretense to the shifting of social norms on a micro or macro sociological level is discussed using the arena of war as a descriptive tool. It is understood that quantifiable research is necessary in the future.
